Lakeview Honkers Football 26-36 La Pine

La Pine handed Lakeview a 36-26 defeat Thursday night in a Southern Cascade League (2A) football matchup, dropping the Honkers to 0-5 on the season. The road loss in La Pine marked Lakeview's first conference game of the year, leaving the Lakeview, Oregon, program at 0-1 in league play as the postseason picture begins to take shape.

The Honkers kept it competitive, putting 26 points on the board against a La Pine squad that ultimately had the answers when it counted most. Without a detailed box score available, the final margin tells a familiar story for a young Lakeview group still searching for its first win of the fall.

The Honkers will need to find some momentum quickly with the heart of the league schedule still ahead. Lakeview returns to action next week looking to get into the win column and give their fans something to cheer about as the Southern Cascade League race heats up.
