Bonanza Antlers Boys Soccer 1-9 St. Mary's, Medford

St. Mary's of Medford handed Bonanza a tough lesson on the road Thursday, rolling to a 9-1 victory in an East Cascades Conference (2A) boys soccer matchup that sent the Bonanza, Oregon squad home with a loss. The Pioneers from Medford controlled the contest from early on, building a lead that Bonanza was unable to overcome despite finding the back of the net once in the lopsided affair. Road trips against established programs can expose gaps quickly, and St. Mary's made the most of every opportunity on their home pitch. The result drops Bonanza to 1-2 overall on the season and 1-1 in conference play, leaving the Cats right in the middle of the league standings with plenty of games still to be decided. The experience of competing against a high-powered opponent, even in defeat, can sharpen a young squad heading into the rest of the schedule. Bonanza will look to bounce back in their next outing and build on the conference point already earned earlier this fall.
